In 2016 SIA Group’s multi award winning asset valuation team conducted asset appraisals which supported many of the largest refinancing and leveraged buyouts of UK mid-market companies i.e. Maplin, JML, Allied Healthcare. The team also worked on a wide range of high profile restructuring assignments such as BHS and Rizonjet to maximise value.
Paul Craig, Head of SIA Group London office, cited its market awareness as a key enabler of success. He said” The valuation and appraisal business has changed dramatically in the last five years. Asset based lending at the top end of the SME market has accelerated and private equity firms are now more pro-active in looking to their portfolio of companies to obtain an accurate gauge on asset values. We have invested in people who possess the unique combination of valuation, business analytical skills and work out experience supported by strong financial backgrounds to drive the business forward and be innovators in the market. The group’s specialist knowledge of machinery and equipment, inventory and receivables is in demand from leading lending institutions and financial sponsors driven by their need to understand risk exposure and a requirement to provide solutions to recover potential exposure”
