SIA Group has completed the disposal of excess wind turbine related stock for Vestas Wind Systems A/S (Vestas).
Utilising its extensive experience in the sector, SIA conducted sales across 3 jurisdictions, Germany, USA and Denmark, via private treaty and online auction.
“SIA showed an excellent understanding of Vestas’ requirements and timelines from the outset of the project.”
Vestas is the only global energy company dedicated exclusively to wind energy. The company was founded in 1898 in Western Denmark and started producing wind turbines in 1979. Vestas is now a world leader, with close to 82 GW of installed wind power and more than 71 GW under service across the globe, including close to 7 GW of non-Vestas turbines.
Paul Craig, Managing Director, SIA Group, said:
“The Vestas project is another superb example of how our team consistently demonstrates precision, professionalism and tenacity. Very few asset disposal firms could have contemplated this project because of the specialist knowledge required in terms of markets and asset understanding.”
“We invested heavily in research and moved quickly on every sale opportunity to make sure that the disposal exceeded client expectations.”
Kieran Walsh, VP, Global Head of Service Supply Chain, Vestas Wind Systems A/S, said:
“SIA showed an excellent understanding of Vestas’ requirements and timelines from the outset of the project. Their knowledge and expertise in the preparation, marketing and disposal of spares inventory was key to the success of the project, meeting the deadlines and providing a successful solution.
Kieran continued: “SIA’s team demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism and communication throughout the project and became an integrated part of the Vestas project team, instinctively sharing our goals, deadlines and drive. Their ability to provide solutions across multiple jurisdictions, whilst maintaining a personal high quality service to tight deadlines, set them apart from other providers in their field.”
